Abstract

The Fashohati method is one of the methods used in learning the Qur'an. This method is also used in TPQ Pekalongan City, where the professional development process is the responsibility of the Al-Qur'an Education Park Coordinating Agency (BADKO TPQ). This agency is also a non-profit institution tasked with coordinating the activities and existence of TPQ and Islamic schools in its area. One of its responsibilities is to develop TPQ teachers. This method has the power to produce an Islamic generation through the use of the fashohati book as a guide to reading the Qur'an, which must be supported by professional teachers. Therefore, improving the professionalism of TPQ teachers is an important step in teaching the fashohati method. This article aims to describe the efforts of BADKO TPQ Pekalongan City in developing the professionalism of TPQ teachers to teach the fashohati method, as well as identifying supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that BADKO TPQ Pekalongan City actively carried out professional development of TPQ teachers through various activities. These activities include in-depth study of the fashohati book material, fashohati method training, and periodic evaluations. Supporting factors for this development include support from the government, positive responses from TPQ organizers in Pekalongan City, and assistance from Islamic boarding schools. However, obstacles were also found, such as the low enthusiasm of several TPQ teachers in participating in development and the limited time they had.
