Abstract

Islamic boarding schools, as traditional Islamic educational institutions, play an important role in shaping the character of the nation. However, in the modern era, which is marked by rapid technological development and globalization, Islamic boarding schools are required to strengthen their institutional management in order to improve the quality of Islamic education. This article discusses management strategies for Islamic boarding schools in improving the quality of education through a modern approach without losing traditional values. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method through literature review and observation of Islamic boarding schools that have implemented managerial innovations. The results show that Islamic boarding schools that implement modern management principles such as strategic planning, transparent governance, administrative digitization, and human resource development are able to compete and produce graduates who are spiritually and intellectually competent. With the right strategies, such as curriculum reform, improving the quality of human resources, utilizing technology, and strengthening the management system, Islamic boarding schools are able to transform themselves into excellent, adaptive, and highly competitive educational institutions. The combination of traditional Islamic values and modern management approaches has made Islamic boarding schools more dynamic, innovative, and competitive. Support from the government, community, and higher education institutions is needed to continue developing the managerial capacity of Islamic boarding schools so that they remain an important pillar of national education.
