Apart from that, burning waste is often used as an alternative to reduce the volume of existing waste. However, this method causes negative environmental impacts such as increased air pollution and soil damage around village areas. This article, with the title "Optimizing Waste Through Biopori Technology in Kota Besi Hilir Subdistrict", will explain how biopori technology can be an effective solution in dealing with waste management issues in this subdistrict. Biopori technology works by speeding up the process of decomposing waste and turning it into compost that is useful for farmers and local communities. The approach applied in this project consists of two phases: first, a persuasive approach, which involves outreach to increase public awareness and interest regarding biopore holes; second, a practical approach, where students are directly involved in the process of making biopore holes. From the results of this activity, a biopore hole has been installed as an example that can be adopted and further developed by the community. Apart from that, solid organic fertilizer is produced that can be used by farmers, and there has been a change in mindset in the way people manage their waste.
2025-01-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Al-Amin https://ejournal.staialamin.ac.id/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/274 Socialization of Stunting Prevention as a Community Empowerment Effort 2025-01-11T06:25:01+00:00 Muh. This article discusses the role of students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) in promoting stunting prevention in South Masbagik Village. Through the KKN activities, students collaborate with the local community to raise awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyles. The methods used include counseling and training. The results of these activities show an increase in the community's knowledge about stunting and its prevention measures. Additionally, this program has contributed to community empowerment by involving them in the decision-making process related to family health. Through the active role of students, it is hoped that awareness and preventive actions against stunting can be effectively implemented, leading to a positive impact on children's health and the quality of human resources in the village.
2025-01-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Al-Amin https://ejournal.staialamin.ac.id/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/287 Manifestation of Social Communication Theory in the Waste Alms Campaign to Address Climate Crisis in the Coastal Area of West Lombok 2025-01-23T16:37:53+00:00 Muhamad Khalid Iswadi alitiswadi10@gmail.com Idham Halid idhamhalid1988@gmail.com Pauzan ozanfauzan552@gmail.com Alfan Hadi alfanhadi70@gmail.com
Waste management, especially plastic waste, poses a significant challenge in addressing the climate crisis in coastal areas. This study aims to apply a participatory approach that integrates the principles of social communication and the community-based behavior change theory (Community-Based Social Marketing, CBSM) in the sedekah sampah (waste charity) campaign in Sekotong Barat Village, specifically in Dusun Medang and the Cemara Beach area. The method used is social communication to raise community awareness about the importance of waste management, followed by an invitation for active participation in the sedekah sampah movement, which involves valuable waste. The campaign is driven by the CBSM model, which has proven effective in changing community behavior toward environmental issues. This model engages the community directly in planning and implementing waste reduction programs. The results of this community service indicate an increase in participation, and plastic waste, which was previously considered trash, is now viewed as a valuable resource for social purposes. This approach also successfully transformed community behavior in waste management in the coastal area, creating awareness and tangible actions in reducing plastic waste.
2025-01-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://ejournal.staialamin.ac.id/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/289 “Learning Corner” Means of Increasing Interest in Learning English in Elementary School Age Children in Kotaraja Village 2025-01-24T15:02:12+00:00 Nisfawatil Itsnaeni nisfawatilitsnaeni543@gmail.com Siti Namiroh sitinamira406@gmail.com Titin Nopita novytaaa311@gmail.com Marhamah marhamahsyifaulqolby@gmail.com M. This study aims to integrate the innovation diffusion communication theory into SPAB (Safe School Program) training to enhance disaster preparedness in educational institutions at national and international levels. Training materials rooted in local wisdom, such as disaster preparedness calendars and emergency kits, were employed to support the application of innovation diffusion theory which encompassing five stages: knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. The findings reveal that the innovation diffusion-based approach effectively fosters the adoption of disaster mitigation measures across various educational institutions. However, challenges such as cultural differences, limited resources, and inter-institutional coordination must be addressed through collaborative and adaptive strategies. This study recommends strengthening local wisdom-based materials, improving cross-sector coordination, and conducting continuous program evaluations to ensure the success of SPAB training.
2025-01-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://ejournal.staialamin.ac.id/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/291 Stop Bullying, Start Caring: Education for SDN X Padang Galanggang Students 2025-01-27T03:47:28+00:00 Lisa Arista lisaarista18@gmail.com Neci Mukherji necimukherji0701@gmail.com Zahratul Khairiyah zahratulkhairiah002@gmail.com Bagas Fajriansyah zahratulkhairiah002@gmail.com Hilma Asra zahratulkhairiah002@gmail.com
Bullying, or aggressive behavior that is carried out repeatedly to dominate, hurt or make the victim feel afraid, is a serious issue in social dynamics. Real Work Lectures (KKN) is an extracurricular program that provides real work experience to students in the community. The UNP KKN team implemented the program in Nagari Palaluar, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra, which has a significant stunting problem. Based on data from the Tanjung Ampalu Community Health Center, it was found that 39 toddlers were stunted in Nagari Palaluar. This KKN program includes outreach about the dangers of stunting and how to prevent it, as well as cooking demonstrations to show how to cook nutritious food. The results show that this method is effective in increasing public awareness and knowledge about stunting.
2025-01-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://ejournal.staialamin.ac.id/index.php/pengabdian/article/view/293 Effectiveness of Token Economy to Improve Queuing Behavior in Kindergarten Children 2025-01-27T05:53:51+00:00 Rafika Febrilla rafikafebrilla@gmail.com
This study aims to improve queuing behavior in early childhood by using token economy techniques. The short-term target of this study is that kindergarten children are able to apply queuing behavior in various activities at school, while the long-term target is that queuing behavior can be maintained and applied in various situations outside of school. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method, where the research participants were Kemala Bhayangkari II Bukittinggi kindergarten students aged 5-7 years. Data collection was carried out through observation using a checklist instrument based on Chairilsyah's (2015) theory. The research process consists of several stages, namely screening to determine the target behavior, taking a baseline for seven days to measure initial behavior, and providing interventions with token economy techniques. The tokens used were star-shaped stickers, which were given to students as reinforcers after they demonstrated appropriate queuing behavior. The data obtained were analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of the token economy technique in improving queuing behavior. The results showed that the token economy technique is effective in improving queuing behavior in kindergarten children. In addition, this study also highlights the importance of providing consistent reinforcers to encourage sustainable behavior change. This technique can be adapted for various situations involving young children in learning social behaviors.
2025-01-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025
