This study aims to explore the impact of divorce on children's psychological development through a library research approach. Divorce is not merely a legal or religious termination of a marriage but also a significant psychological event, particularly for children. Based on an extensive review of academic literature, this research finds that divorce can lead to emotional disturbances such as anxiety, sadness, guilt, and a loss of security in children. Furthermore, social effects including delinquent behavior, low self-esteem, and difficulties in forming social relationships are frequently observed. The extent of these impacts varies depending on the child's age at the time of divorce, the quality of the parent-child relationship, parental communication about the divorce, and the social support system surrounding the child. Handling strategies such as maintaining daily routines, honest communication, and continued involvement of both parents are crucial. Proper psychological support can be a key factor in helping children recover and develop mental and emotional resilience in the face of family breakdown.
