Abstract

This study examines the role of parents in character education based on Islamic principles, focusing on how active involvement and parental role modeling can build a strong spiritual and moral foundation for children.  The research objective is to explore the importance of parental roles in Islamic education as a strategic effort in shaping children's character from an early age, utilizing relevant literature such as the Quran, laws, and expert opinions.  Employing a qualitative approach and a literature review method, this study involves relevant texts and documents. Data was collected through content analysis of various sources, including Quranic verses, hadith, laws, and opinions of experts in Islamic education.  The data collection process involved reading, recording, and identifying relevant information using note sheets and a bibliography as supporting instruments.  The results show that parents are not only the first and primary educators but also role models who inspire children through noble character, discipline in worship, and a positive attitude in facing challenges. Parental involvement in creating an Islamic home environment and consistency in setting a good example are crucial for instilling religious values.  This study concludes that the success of a child's Islamic education heavily relies on parental awareness and commitment to Islamic education, making parental investment of time and attention an invaluable obligation for character development.
