Analysis of the Iqro' Method in Improving the Ability to Read Hijaiyah Letters of Early Childhood in RA Darudda'wah Kelep Village Taman Baru District Sekotong West Lombok

Abstract

This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach involving school principals and teachers. Data collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The aim is to find out how the Iqro' method is to develop the ability to read hijaiyah letters in early childhood at RA Darudda'wah Kelep. The results of this research show that the application of the Iqro' method improves the ability to read hijaiyah letters. Based on initial observations, the reality seen in RA darudda'wah Kelep, Taman Baru Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok before using the Iqro' method is that students at the level of reading hijaiyah letters are still less, this can be seen when reading the hijaiyah letters, the letter symbols and sounds do not match. Then according to the teacher's statement that the Iqro' method is rarely used, there is no set time for learning hijaiyah letters. The introduction of hijaiyah letters is only done by singing without introducing hijaiyah letter symbols. And the results after using the Iqro' Method in Improving Early Childhood Hijaiyah Letter Reading Ability at RA Darudda'wah Kelep can be seen by children or students and teachers, it is much easier in the learning process, for example teachers can easily recognize children who are truly fluent in mentioning the hijaiyah letters and which ones are not fluent or can't, it is easier for the teacher to give examples when students pronounce the hijaiyah letters incorrectly, because the teacher uses the Individual method, namely a method of teaching by rotating one by one in turns. And the Classical method is that the teacher teaches by providing material such as writing hijaiyah letters on the blackboard and then all students follow the writing on the blackboard. The researcher's advice to educators is to train themselves to improve their ability to read the Koran so that they can increase the trust of the school or the community (parents).
