Abstract

Language development in early childhood is crucial for supporting children’s cognitive and social development. The purpose of this study is to analyze the language skills of early childhood students in Group B1 at RA Al-Amin Gersik during the 2023–2024 school year using the “reading tree” learning medium. This study is a descriptive quantitative study employing a descriptive approach. Descriptive quantitative research is a type of study that uses descriptive statistics rather than inferential statistics; the data obtained are presented only in the form of tables or tabulations, and the only statistics calculated are the mean, median, and mode. This study involved all students in Group B1 as the research sample. The research location was RA Al-Amin Gersik. Data collection was conducted through documentation and language proficiency tests. The data obtained were then analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. The results showed that 2 children were in the “Beginning to Develop” (MB) category, 9 children were in the “Developing as Expected” (BSH) category, and 14 children were in the “Developing Very Well” (BSB) category. Based on the research results and discussion, it can be concluded that the Analysis of Early Childhood Language Skills Using the “Reading Tree” Learning Medium is effective in improving the language skills of early childhood students at RA Al-Amin Gersik in Kediri, West Lombok, with an average improvement of 76.8%. Additionally, this medium also helps children expand their vocabulary and develop their reading skills.
